word smiths

by Kristina Woodhill

why would you
speak words others
have written

to debase

why would you
feed words
blood red meat
to arouse

to divide

why would you
slash and smile
shoving words
striving

to detonate

rumi, oh rumi
i miss you so
as you dissolve
within
would you allow
my hand to
pause your
mystic
blissful spin

surely since
your Wedding Night
that perfect union
won
the Beloved might
extend to us
your now
much needed
tongue

I really like this! "why would you slash and smile shoving words striving to detonate" really cuts to the core. Great write!

Brilliant, I love the way you stitched the 1st three stanzas with destructive verbs and then moved into two lovely pieces of artistic smithery :)
