The Promise

by Brian Francis

Don’t be afraid my little one
I promise it will be alright
Don’t be afraid to close your eyes
In the darkness or the light

Don’t be afraid my little one
Of things that go bump in the night
You will never ever be all alone
I will always be right nearby

Don’t be afraid my little one
Of dreams that wake you from sleep
Just remember to call my name
And I’ll soon be by your side

Don’t be afraid of anything
Nothing can harm you now
There’s a warm place within my heart
Where you can always abide

Don’t be afraid of noise you hear
And never fear the dark
My love will always comfort you
For you have the whole of my heart

Don’t be afraid my little one
If fear makes your eyes wide
I will be there with all my love
In case you need to cry

Don’t be afraid
Don’t be afraid
Don’t be afraid
tonight

Works beautifully as both lullaby or ballad Brian. Would sound great played to acoustic guitar. :o)
