A Crying Sham

by Laura Doom

They danced until the bleak of dawn
a fawning mass fatality
of sundae fluids passed between
one chosen and a newly born.

At noon, when all was dead and sung
the urbane myth unleashed a yawn
to complement her moaning, for
no horns were blown, though bells were wrung.

By dusk, the couple was engaged
in splitting heirs with little grace
yet no apparent issue came
to light their way as night was waged.

The mourning after [sic & tired]
prescribed the dropping of an e
and, faster than the light of speed
a worthy title was acquired.

...laura, i'm giggling at a tragedy...because you tease wonderfully with this language...i could hug those word choices that makes memind wander, giggle, then get back to the story...and great capture of lives in a blink...past cute, this is creative.

Laura D! Creative and wonderful wordplay. Nice rhyme structure, too.

Kick and ass? Yes, I'd say so.

This is just wickedly delightful and may I say a cleverly concocted cooperative twixt consonants and those other letters. ;)
