Twenty-Nine Memories

by Matthew Taylor

It was March, seventy seven....
a gift to me sent from heaven.
In a life that trapped my heart..
I longed to be given, a fresh new start.
The path was bumpy, the road long.
But we always knew, where we belong.
Youth escaped us quickly,
replaced by young to raise on our own.
We grew together, weathered storms of life,
sometimes it seemed the last redemption candle...
had flickered and blown out.
I look back, you are always in my mirror,
I look ahead...
can't ever imagine your image not there.
I sit now, tears run down my face...
nothing on earth could ever take your place.
My hunny-pup, my friend, our love has no end!
I give my thanks and offer my praise to Him above,
Thank you for giving to me..
MY LOVE.

Author's Note: Our 29th anniversary, the last 3 years somehow escaped my putting into words my feelings for my wife, I wrote a song for her on our 25th , a few words are contained in this piece...I will not neglect sharing my God given gift of expression thru words for another year. My lover my life, my heartbeat, my wife, our love has no end. As I travel thru the days of life your heart beats inside of mine.
