A Deaf Eye

by Genevieve Sturrock

does poetry
have any meaning
if no one reads it
artistically strung words
carefully woven together
a colorful feast for
the soul, heart and mind
posted for others' eyes
a blind and desperate
grasp for some kind of
...connection...we hope...
hidden in plain sight
lost amid the flotsom
of cyberspace
all this outpouring
of our souls
echoing silently
just one more layer
added to the blanket
of white noise
that has become
the background music
of our daily lives

Better cluttered mind than a cluttered desk. Somehow I think my poetry is read more here on this site than if I'd published a book. After all, you have to pay for a book.

Profound...much truth and wisdom here. Kinda like the poetic equivalent of if a tree falls in the forest...

what if people read it?
