Jellyfish Clouds by Kristina Woodhilljellyfish clouds
tendrils trail,
bodies'
drifting dance,
the Seaman's
wistful glance
invoking oaken
planks
alas, his ship
has sailed
jellyfish clouds
windswept wish,
sandman
rakes his tray,
a simple child
at play
might catch
a fish
that way
or ride
a long kite's
tail
jellyfish clouds
sunfish scales,
Hydra calls
the night,
slithers
into
sight -
jealous
curving
light
the starfish
sparks a trail
jellyfish clouds
of moonlit white,
the jetstream
has its say,
instructs
the night's
ballet
insists things
flow
its way
a silly
tidal
tale

Author's Note: ;)I tried to photograph the most remarkable clouds yesterday, luring and elusive.

Posted by Sandy M. Humphrey on 08/24/08 at 12:48 AM I like the poem and can imagine the clouds changing formation as you watched through camera lens...but what a delightful tale and as a read I thought it would make a delightful illustrated child's book. smh |

Posted by James Blaylock on 04/25/11 at 12:02 PM I'd really love this hear this piece dancing off your writers tongue. It speaks many more volumes to hear it being read aloud by a piece's creator. Awesome! |
