reciprocity

by Bek Williams

i was in love with your face once
and one winter night we had a real talk
and in between the um's and and's
i began to understand

i was infatuated with your voice once
i could hear you in my dreams
and then one day i heard you sing
and knew it was only the beginning

i was smitten with your music once
you played me something special
but i had heard it before
when you were with the 'girl next door'

i was in love with you once
a better person i could not find
and then, as if a sign from God
i started to see right through your facade

I love the word reciprocity so I read. The content is a story all to familar and the ending all to real. Very good job. smh

i'm always looking for reciprocity. i'm glad you came to this epiphany - it's an important one.
