catching the Moon undressed by Charlie Morganwho walks by my window carrying such a heavy shadow,
a shadow that stretches all the way to childhood
and riding on the haunches of high school accolades?
this dark figure is in the moon's morning shadow
making it hard to see for the moss-green tree trunks,
greyed by the morning sun chugging to warm the day.
watching for the least change, i wait, wonder.
is this the day i'll catch the moon undressed
while the sun splashes the world with warmth.
as green is born from brown, happiness grins
a leafy vegetable; a Monet lake with flowers.
sum of a moment's breath of awakening to live.
i am not a lonely man, just a man who is alone;
friendship is a full bus going to the sunny beach,
a dark shadow will not do as one's only companion. 07/29/2008 Posted on 07/29/2008 Copyright © 2026 Charlie Morgan

| Posted by Kristina Woodhill on 07/29/08 at 10:31 PM I really like these lines - "is this the day i'll catch the moon undressed
while the sun splashes the world with warmth.", and I am now determined to grin a leafy vegetable. Ha!

"a shadow that stretches all the way to childhood"
Oh, how incredibly well you know where to place this, and there are clinchers everywhere in here, my friend.

| Posted by Nicole D Gregory on 08/05/08 at 06:22 PM Wow! This is just beautiful! I feel like I've just met an amazing personality. Despite the fact that this shadow/moon/companion is not a desired companion... I feel like I wouldn't mind sitting down for a conversation. This is very inspirational. Thank you for sharing!
