History Lesson 1

by George Hoerner

As Told By A Historian Regarding Ancient Times
(based on fragmentary documents found in an ancient library)

The Vice sat next to he who would be king
The talk turned to the terrorist ring
Who might they be that would attack using stolen air ships
Was there no honor among those using whips
They must be stopped using all necessary force
Turning in his chair the would be king said “force begets force”
“Call up the young and energetic; those eager to kill and willing to die”
Certainly they have the will
And besides we can regain control over the petroleum jelly
We need it to fill our belly

(it is thought by our technocrats that this was a form of food much like our sunberry jelly
needed by those incapable of finding any other food to sustain their power)

in any case the young, considered useless by many,
were given to some underling with instructions to win; the cost could be any;
the harlequin clowns sat in the house row upon row
while the lords of the senate did debate what oats to sow.
the people were fed the usual (something called BS)
(this is an abbreviation the meaning of which has yet to be discovered)

a kangaroo court also sat in a premium house as the story is told
it seems these members when they became too old
were sent there to die from what they called all-shimmers
which was a disease that left them not knowing
from whence they had come or where they were going

the story ends rather quickly in terms of the time we know today
not only were they not able to gain control over the source
of this petroleum jelly but the BS became so deep
that the total population seems to have been overcome
by the very animal by product which was being fed to them
by those powerful pundits

the young lost the urge to kill
in fact they seemed to lose all will
this strange aberration in history is one which
will no doubt never be understood
for he who would be king and his Vice
have been lost over time and
history sees them only as an unseemly footnote
along with the terrorists themselves

our history lesson is over for today
tomorrow we will start learning really important history

Ha! I'm going to be thinking Vasoline all night, I can tell. I enjoyed this look back at our now, and hope I avoid the all-shimmers so I can see how this all came down when I'm a fossil also.... ;)
