Paradigm Shift by Lacy D PhillipsThere is a veritable menagerie of sound all around,
And we break from the inanity to listen.
We are all false starts and dueling rhythms,
but still we've settled on a sound
that may not be music,
but is musical.
We don't let the perennial fear of a wrong note keep us silent
or we'd never sing, never speak, never think out loud.
And we lose ourselves in mimicry
because we were told once
that it's the highest form of flattery.
So I'll do what you do.
Look where you look.
I'll test drive your views,
and say what you'd say.
I'll go where you go.
And I'll stay where you stay. 06/12/2008 Author's Note: A co-worker of mine plays fantastic el-acoustic guitar. These few lines were inspired by his compositions. Particularly "Capo 3". http://www.myspace.com/paradigmelacoustic
