Momentary

by Joe Cramer

I too, had hoped it would last forever.

It was either now, or never.

The train stops on the tracks

In front of my little house.

So I'm stuck in this rut,

Like all things, it will pass.

Like everything, its momentary.

We all wait for a better life

When the one right here in front

Of us just ain't that bad.

What I want, and what you desire

Are two very different momentary things.

The train rolls past,

Along and away.
