I HATE BUGS!

by Gregory R Schelske

I hate bugs-
squishy, squashy bugs,
bugs with wings and pointy things
and bugs with stripes and bumble-stings
and long slimy creatures that do weird things
and caterpillars with colored rings; queen ants and kings
that build spooky things and moths and grubs that come out in spring
and bees with stingers with butts that sting flies that fly and bugs that sing-
and wingless flies and flyless mites and tiny bugs with monster fights.
and big blue bugs with big blue butts and big bright lights
and frightening things that make their frightful flights
and beetle-bugs that fly in my hair at night
and bugs that buzz and have no rights
bugs with teeth and toothy bites-
nasty, naughty bugs
I hate bugs!

I love the biography on your home page and this is really biting. From another bug hater. "Cept bees and flutterbys. Bees make honey and butterflys just flutterby. This made me smile.

Duke, this is wonderful. I enjoyed reading it. I like some bugs, but not all of them. I'll keep you in my thoughts as you serve overseas.
