(un)settled as of yet.

by Emily Tong

would these sunny skies ever settle
for something less than
sunny faces and reflection? shine
shine down
on me. down down
on me.

And back. To you.

would the skies accept this, a yet
Twice seen light?

If not,
i’d bequeath the sunset-clouds to
your gracious countenance
to make up the difference.

Perhaps we could all settle for that.

You bring a freshness to the use of nature to express human relationships.
