slippin'

by Kimberly Bare

sleepin' & slippin'
dreamin' & trippin'

to escape
this war that never ends

how do days go by
so quickly
even as hours stay so long

how can one life be
so happy
in a world that's gone so wrong

and so they keep on...

sleepin' & slippin'
dreamin' & trippin'

to escape
what never ends

to escape what they began

...kimberly, this is a heavy write, introspective and yet a shoe that fits everyone...charlie

I agree with Charlie. This has universal appeal in its ability to relate to everyone. Brooding, even painful in its honesty. Well done Kim.

Agreed, universal theme, war against evil, ignorance, prejudice, hatred never ends. The millenia pass by as sand in an hourglass, The war is waged as if by a grain of sand at a time It is never lost, never won But must go on until Christ returns To right it all
