words and ways

by Emily Davidson

if there were words
to explain
the complexity of our love
i'd use them

if there were ways
to make you understand
how true my love is
i'd show you

but i do all i can
and it still falls flat;
i say all i can say
and you are still silent

we're both sick, twisted, dishonest
i'm sorry it has to be this way
but i think you have the power to change it

Leave em on their knees, eh? I dunno. That's the feeling I got. Especially in the last line. Great writing.

Courageously honest piece of writing Emily. I just hope this didn't fall on deaf ears. Continued success with your writing! :o)

im in a similar situation. where i sell myself out and sacrifice self-esteem to try to fullfill blind hopes turned frustration. i love your words and how they painted this picture.
