her bridges

by Kyle Anne Kish

booking on outta here
not looking back
cuz there’s no more
to lose than my
poker winnings

i do not play poker but keep
a good poker face
to erase the bit of light
which shines its longitude
at the nearest latitude
outside the hemisphere
of my brain

HER-eyes

the eyes of someone
noticing suspicion
in everyone else’s eyes
or is it simply deception
of the kind that overrides

all things neutral

no impasse
no trespassing
just repossessing
what i’m claiming
to be mine, ours, yours

if that’s what it may be

HER-eyes

not always the wisest way
of lending myself to myself
but certainly a kinder, gentler
way of looking at things
which go bump in the night

This has so much great wordplay going for it. It's hard not to love the way this thing moves.

This makes complete sense to me. Which is one reason I surely am happily quite crazy. In a kinder gentler way, too.
