Haircut by Genevieve Sturrocktoday my son matured by years
and all it took was a pair of shears
to strip away those curls of gold
and change my baby to a six year old
05/04/2008 Author's Note: oh my goodness! i can't believe how much difference a haircut makes...i swear he is not the same kid who first sat down in that barber's chair!

Posted by A. Paige White on 05/05/08 at 02:53 PM Having cut my 19 year old's hair yesterday and remembering all the many times I've cut it since he had golden curls, I can so relate to this. Isn't it amazing what a haircut can do? He doesn't fidget nearly so bad now, lol, as he did at 6! And didn't ask the first time when I'd be through.
Posted by Alison McKenzie on 05/05/08 at 04:05 PM Ohhhh, I had the SAME experience this last weekend, only it was prom tuxedo that matured him this time. They do grow so fast. This is just the sweetest!

Posted by Chris Sorrenti on 05/10/08 at 03:23 PM A fun poem Genevieve that brings back some of my own sweet memories both of myself and my son's trips to the barber's chair. Years later not happy with his hair in general, he decided to shave it all off and sport the bald look. Once I got over the initial shock, I had to admit he looked pretty good that way, which has continued to this day. Hair or lack of it sure can change a person's personality as you've eluded to in your poem. :o)
