the lack of

by Ava Blu

i didn't share this with you
because my tiny writing couldn't
face the light underneath
your too-bright microscope

and i suffered
for choices
for the lack of

and the distance IS bearable
(even for me, the broken rag-doll)

you don't know what this means
(i know)
but my throat closes every time
you pick up the phone

to be mute
to live, speak only
through words and actions

maybe then this love could remain committed.

I think that picture is a good final word on it indeed. Beautiful, as always.

There is something beautifully sad about this.

I'm glad I found this in someone's favorite's. Here are feelings I understand, having been silented since I can remember. Your delivery is perfect. Who could not feel after reading it? The photograph is at once important.

This popped up in Random Member Favorites, and I read the line straight across as "The lack of Ava Blu." I thought, that would be a terrible thing for this site to suffer, and you proved me right again with this poem.
