Posted by Charlie Morgan on 04/24/08 at 03:10 PM ...so glad for the adjudication, guilty[on all counts] but somehow, your adjudication means more than the courts, and mylady, i was sent to Webster's Ninth for hoise...lovley, queen, lovely...charlie--w/ his unrequieted love, eh? |
Posted by A. Paige White on 04/24/08 at 04:00 PM I just love the "t'take" apostrophe in this. It makes such a lovely sound. What a luxurious sin to indulge in! ;-} It's not my favorite one, but it's right up there in the top 10. Beautiful poem! |
Posted by Gregory O'Neill on 04/24/08 at 06:58 PM The interwoven touchstones to history are great. I like time travel, personally. A favorite adj* of mine is in a Christmas lullaby I used to sing to my children. From, "Hush My Dear, Lie Still And Slumber", you sing: How much better THOU'RT attended, lovely song that. Thanks for this!

Posted by Gabriel Ricard on 04/25/08 at 04:11 AM Some really, really cool rich language in this. There's just so much life in this, the kind of style I wouldn't mind trying myself someday. I especially loved the last line. |

Posted by Laura Doom on 07/15/08 at 11:02 PM t'rend ellipses' partial peace
and tar that light of feather'd cease
t'raid subjunctives were they glam
and tear the crying out of sham
this was the future, see it fly
beyond the dire metrics' lie
your abdication of the cage
no hanging out in bars, miss sage

Posted by Joan Serratelli on 03/18/09 at 01:14 PM I absolutely loved this! The last line is great (as is the rest of the piece) I also loved the way you "signed" it. Great job (as usual) and very, very creative! |
