women's basketball by Charlie Morgan
the women's basketball team
was playing with their balls
they had grown a pair and
loved the segmented sections,
symetrical, spherical, and bounce-able.
inflated, they bounced higher;
deflated, a bounce became a thud.
the sound of jaws dropping
at the feat of women who loved
their balls, twirling them.
then, making points;
game tied with them
told to pocket their balls
and get on with the game.
the deflated men's team
losing and making bouncing-thud sounds.
