of rain

by Peter Humphreys

some times
they speak
of sweet
refreshing rain
of rain
that washes
away the dust
of the day
that greens
the greys
of life
of rain
that
brings forth
rainbows
rebirth
love
where
deserts
parch
emotions
almost dry
well
last night
the gutters burst
the garden flooded
the Dodder surged
and
in the bright
clear light
of dawn
all questions
need
no answer

A wonderful cleansing you have given us here, coming to a clear conclusion in your last three lines. Thanks for this.

This brings tears to my eyes for the beautiful it is and for the memory of a night of march rain it evokes. Thank you for sharing ... *m.a
