kitten.

by Andrew S Adams

the willow swells to
the conducting wind;
the symphony is set,
its melody whispered
then shouted
as the crescendos soar
higher and higher,
her voice clear as
the sun through her strings,

and then,
for a brief moment,
silence.

the setting sun
sends forth gentle coos
through the willow,
and the evening purrs
like a kitten.

Vivid imagery, effective use of analogy.
