Medley of Green

by Kristina Woodhill

i'm so green
it's gotta be seen
look at me now, babe,
look at my sheen

i'm a tiny coquie
in the flamboyan tree
i'm a sticky feet cutie
i can croak
whooeee!

Kermit the frog
would be so proud
of me
i'm so doggone
splashed on green

there once was a lass who loved yellow
and her lad was a fine yellow fellow
till one day when she strayed
toward a braver strong knave
soon her lad expelled one fine green bellow

i'm so green
it's gotta be seen
i'm the feather in the cap
of a pirate ship's scene

i'm a parrot's bright green
from the sun ray's gleam
on his shoulder claws grip
eye to eye we both beam

Captain Hook
would be so proud
of me
i'm so doggone
splashed on green

as he swam through a Guinness foam stupor
Jack's red face prehinted a blooper
said the barkeep - "it seems
you've begun to grow green
lose your color outside if you would, sir"

it's so green
it's gotta be seen
the Jewel of the ocean
the Gem of the sea

if there's a Ring for me
let it be from Kerry
the Emerald Isle
is all that i need

i'm so proud
to have some Irish
in me
i'm so doggone
splashed on green

Major FUN! ...oh, my...."lose your color outside, sir"...a terrific hoot! And "prehinted" is a great word. Thanks.

What a fun poem. I especially like "lose your color outside if you would, sir". One of the best lines ever!
