the fan - in three axe and a cuplet by Kristina Woodhilli. speed
loosened
the 5/8 inch bolt
from the corporate jet
in its pie high sky
fell straight down
as fast
as the 32 ft/sec rate
would allow
air, curious about the bolt's intent,
did not resist
subsequently
the fan, set on low,
sitting flat on the concrete patio
was hit directly from above
the blunt hexagonal merging
with each blade's
long graceful curvature
producing a
pang-pang-pa-dang
pa-dang-pang
popping sound sequence
reverberating back out into
space
at the normal speed of sound
ii. surprise
loosened
the shit hit the fan
at about the same time
as the audience gasped
and the front row raised
their plastic sheets
surprised, a novel sensation,
as the older crowd in the back
nodded behind their
protective glasses
staring straight forward
into audacity and
mouthing it's about time
iii. synchronicity
Loosened
the secrets from a downed
French designed
Morane-Saulnier Type L
on April 18, 1915
behind enemy lines
with its Hotchkiss 8 mm machine gun
mounted to shoot directly
through a propeller
spinning at 800-2000 rpm
fitted with armored blades and deflector wedges
Fokker's German design team
adapted this new information
with its own research
quickly replying on May 30, 1915
with prototypes of the Fokker E.l
introducing a more efficient synchronizer
mechanism and paving the way
for the period of the war known as
the Fokker Scourge
showing once again
that no problem is insurmountable
when information is shared
fans come in all sizes and can blow from any direction desired

| Posted by Gregory O'Neill on 03/07/08 at 02:25 AM ...what you are blowing is NOT hot air here! This is a bit of finely tuned fun. Thanks. |
| Posted by Mara Meade on 03/08/08 at 12:05 AM Incredible observations here, as you are wont to make and do... good stuff here, and lessons to learn. |
