I Wish I Could Say This Will Be The Last One

by Amy Wustrin

If the best that I
Can hope for now
Are sweet, sweet dreams of you
Well that just might be
Much better than
The best from someone new

If the price I pay
For loving you still
Is knowing you'll never be mine
But the memories stay strong
And my heart carries on
Well baby, I think that's just fine

There's nothing that I
Have been able to do
To make myself stop loving you
So I give up
My heart is yours
It always was, you know it's true

If I'm crazy
I guess I can live with that
I've been a fool for lesser things
Cuz no embrace
Can ever come close
To the warmth your memory brings

But if by some
Unlikely chance
You're thinking of me too
Then you should know
My biggest regret
Are these unspoken words: I love you
