The Fireplace

by Tony Whitaker

Dancing flames of fireplace
erase the pains
of day’s disdains,
allowing mind the time,
to sit beside
one who warms on sands
of some Pacific isle
and sees the world,
a blue marble on black velvet,
sunning on a grain of sand,
of our rare desert paradise.

Interesting fireside dreaming. I was intrigued by the desert paradise - a contrast, for sure.

To let the colours and flickers be of a desert sunset... mmmmmmm. Lovely.
