Chatter

by Alisa Js

I have listened to uncertain chatter
uneven across the night speak
felt your indecision
and waited
for how much longer, I can not know ...

as the sun makes it's way in the heavens
and we linger for nothing
waiver for naught
if this carries on, we'll be left in the rubble
of all we could have remembered
rather than this endless charade
of footsteps in passing
shadows that dance
heartbeats that do nothing but tremble
at circumstance ...

I identify with this feeling far too well, suffer the same worries at times. But then, just enough of a morsel will fall that I feel less hungry for it, for a moment anyway. I especially love the character lent to "night speak", for some reason. Well done.

Very well done Alisa. Uncertain is what it must be as life is uncertain. When certainty is spoken beware for was it sober spoken? Nice write.

Another recent best in my opinion. You've shed the clichés, and forged a powerful expression that will stand for centuries to all those who will relate to it as per their own lives.

Indecision is a hallmark of ambiguous relationships. You seem to have your finger on the pulse of something very deep, Alisa -- well done, well written.
