contradictions

by George Hoerner

contradictions
grow within me
and like a rock i
throw myself at the world
as bits and pieces
fall all around
there is no luster
and no shine left

as water i feel
wet and wild
cold and clear
i once was clay
soft and pliable
but i slipped away
and now am
cracked and crusty

i am now and later
before and after
like original sin
finite and in........
the mystery in the mist
the lost and the found

i am destiny
both death and life
the darkness
in the candle
and the light
the known and un
the sound but
mostly the silence
flowing from
this pen

Very nicely put. It is our nature to be contradictory I think.
