bridges

by George Hoerner

you've raced through life

crisscrossing the

burning bridges until

the heat made you stop

moving so fast you've been

lighting both ends of life

without even knowing

time's tic-tock

has changed

to the nanosecond

going ticiti-ticiti with

no time for a tock

you know - no time

to reminisce

since you raced away

the lonely days with

all the things collected

and left memories

to others to decipher

and lost your

loves of fantasy

listening to fantasia

What a beautiful and most insightful way of stating for others not to waste one's life chasing after rainbows in someone else's yard... aloha..;-)

this is a splendid analogy for life, George, life, which is a bridge to somewhere or nowhere, depending on how you look at it and not matter how you burn or cross it, the bridge and the crosser who is himself a bridge are always feeling the heat,
