cipria by Maria Massarella
Let sun's gentle rays
brush morning gold to skin
warm-waken me languid
on fragrant rose-petals
lace me in pastel chiffons
tullèd transparencies
veil me in a touch of retrò
swirl radiance to hazel eyes
sprinkle primrose stars
breeze blossoming promises
windkiss wavefilled hair and i
will wed you Life on this summer's
day of precious moments seeded
envined to heart's infinite fields
where the vicinity of breath to lips
sedates silent aches - sublimates
unconfined adorations
immeasurable beauty flowers
amidst passion's flame where
with lovelight's song i shall
forever praise you
fragile divine
gossamer
breath

Author's Note: september 2004 ... written in hospital, on my first meeting with my oncologist when my radiation therapies at Bologna were over. 'Cipria' is 'powder' ... I chose this title because when I wrote this, there was a magazine someone had left in the room and it opened on a page that spoke of cipria, and powder seemed so frivolous a thought ... so a call of life.
this, is a revised version ... *m.a
'envined' wrote itself originating in my thoughts from the word 'vine' like that of the grapes in my Father's garden ... so are the precious moments seeded 'en-vine-d' to hearts fields (in my poem)

Posted by Quentin S Clingerman on 02/12/08 at 02:07 PM Mystical the words of luminous love
Scattered like blinking stars upon
Those who breathe the air of Godly muse
Wrapping them in earthly fare of such delight
It brings sparkling images to the senses day and night.
The stars shine around you in mystic flight
