On the Wall by Brian Francis
Your picture is hanging in the hallway downstairs
Where I find myself sitting in pain and despair
Alone in my sadness and longing for you
My heart is still broken by a love that is true
Your eyes seem to call me with every small glance
Your voice is heard clearly drenched in romance
Like times when you’d lure me away from my day
Up to the bedroom where together we’d play
Memories are all that is left for me now
Time worn and faded though they may be
Memories of a life before you went away
Moments that I cherish throughout my day
Your picture is hanging in the hallway downstairs
Where I find myself sitting alone with you there
Drunken with sadness and longing for you
My heart is still broken, my love remains true 01/16/2008 Posted on 01/17/2008 Copyright © 2024 Brian Francis

Posted by Michelle Angelini on 01/20/08 at 07:40 PM I wanted to cry when I read your words, since the depth of emotion - the grief, the despair - behind them feels bottomless. Even if the picture is taken away, the memories will still be there to haunt for sometime to come.
