seven sevens

by Peter Humphreys

sat beneath the Pleiades
tonight
I kiss and kiss and kiss
you
good night

seven sisters shining
seven lights a' steering

seven moons since
our pairing
that night

seven steps to heaven
seven sent softly

seven hopes 'n
seven fears a'glow

alone we go
this universe
to know

Ah yes, and Romans used it as eye exam. If you couldn't see the seventh sister you couldn't be a soldier of the guard. Very nice! As a child I feared the dark. That was true right up until I took a course in astronomy. Then the stars and planets became my friends and guardians.

Pretty cosmic stuff here! I enjoy the significant sevens in your life very much.
