Fast Friends - rictameter by Kristina Woodhillfast friends
mastiff Gator
Charlie the red heeler
not one moment wasted alone
their mandibles meet and chew frisky chins
slobber flies as they race
the neighbor's horse
fast friends

Author's Note: First attempt at a rictameter form, inspired by Paganini Jones – our neighbor's dogs are fast friends as they chew and roll and play in the dirt all day long, and run along the neighbor's fence when their horses chase up and back in the sunny afternoon.

Posted by Gregory O'Neill on 01/04/08 at 09:55 PM Love the "frisky chins"....well done, and not always as easy form to pull off. This works though. Thanks. |
Posted by Paganini Jones on 01/06/08 at 10:04 PM I too particularly like the image of two dogs chewing frisky chins. Good stuff. And keep playing with the form - they are pretty addictive I think (And glad to have provided inspiration) |
Posted by Michelle Angelini on 01/15/08 at 10:45 PM Aren't dogs the best (says she who has a cat, but wants a Chihuahua so much!). They can steal your heart with just one glance. I just love they way you describe their playfulness and there's nothing better than doggy slobber. LOL!
