Leave

by Joe Cramer

This wind shakes and glides

through them, and they stay

hanging on for dear life.

Colors splayed, drooping now,

going nowhere.

None leave.

Author's Note: I was sitting on a porch way out in the woods of Central Florida, watching the leaves...

What a great metaphor here for how it can feel to be trapped inside a useless relationship.... aloha and happy new year.. alisa ;-)

let go, let go, let go. don't be afraid. this ode is quite the metaphor for our lives. there are so many branches in our lives that for that certain uncertainty, we fear to let go of. and yet how will poets or leaves come of age and wisdom and to love lest they let go?
