Christmas Morning Dream by Charles M HarrisonAs a child I dreamed
of Christmas Morning.
Of large boxes with bows
all for me from Santa.
This I thought was joy
the toy I most wanted.
As a young man I dreamed
of Christmas Morning.
Family gathered all together
Pairs in love and I alone.
Love it seems, was not to be,
friends a plenty, no special one.
As a man of 27 I dreaded dreams
of Christmas Morning.
Always the questions, the jokes,
the sad looks, quiet whispers.
No gift no matter how heart felt
could fill the emptiness in my heart.
As a man of 28 I dreamed
of Christmas Morning.
For the love I had so long missed
finally found itÂ’s way to my heart.
God sent to me an angel of joy
and he called her name Anne.
As a husband I dream each day
is Christmas Morning.
Each day with the one I love
is a gift as precious as life.
Sent by my Savior to heal
a broken, and empty heart.

Posted by Sigurdur Haraldsson on 12/30/07 at 10:43 AM I really like this one. Especially the way the dreams turn after you've found your better half. I feel much the same way. |
