Silent Night ?

by Ann Mills

'Tis the day we call Christmas
and all through the digs
Many creatures are stirring
but none are my kids

Son, he is working
Daughter with Dad
Me at my parent's
'cause I don't have a pad

I remember the yesteryears
the days of old
when we were together
more precious than gold

It feels awefully lonely
Though family is near
Though love seems abounding
I miss those most dear

Oh silent night
Oh lonely night
I'll look to the future
When hope burns bright

I hope future holidays find you in the company of those you hold most dear.

Ann, I love the sentiment and the gentle rhymes. I too long for those wonderful days with your family and have such great memories. Your biographies crisscross ours at so many points. Thanks for the memories, beloved.
