On the Backside

by Joe Cramer

Now, on the backside of my life

I watch the days speed by in a blur.

My time hastens towards its end

As I try to remember how it did begin.

What has happened, what did occur?

I miss the carefree days

As I watch my pebbles hasten toward the shore.

On the backside of my life

There is no love, only strife....

Author's Note: Written on my 50th birthday.... with a nod to Shakespeare, who died in his early 50's.....

I'd say on the strength of this that you've got more than a few good poems left in you. A lot more.
