death births life by Charlie Morgan
lifting morning's fog, the sun squinted
over a scarecrow-cloud resting his chin;
presiding over another day, still tired
from the days before dealing in weather.
winter's door slammed shut on Mid-America
leaving Falfurias, San Luis Ibispo warm.
and pelting snowballs of death on Denver
making God shake sadly His wondering head.
did He do that? allow havoc in icy-ness
and the love of others for others, lost?
or does love come in all shades of death,
life and all the mind-numbing days ahead.
smile, follow the leader, take-in a fish.
a day is over, done, 'til the 2:00 feeding.

| Posted by Chris Sorrenti on 12/13/07 at 02:28 AM Lively reflection and expression of recent events in Colorado, etc. I like how you've captured the darkness of the event. Not sure I understand the last two lines though. Thanks also Chaz for your comment on my latest. :o) |
