the window unspeaking by A. Paige White When the knock comes at the door
there is always a knock
in a breeze at the open window
the one closest to the Son
I have no interest to open to thoughts of faith that waste
no desire to peephole for empty words standing there,
if the one I seek stands at the window unspeaking
I've opened that door before.
No interest in gilt lined letters of promise carved as mere woods
promises willing to fill the premises with a premise - more words
but the premise knocks dimmest
if the one I seek stands at the window unspeaking
I've opened that door
before

| Posted by Kristina Woodhill on 12/04/07 at 04:06 PM Very cool word play. I also love "there is always a knock" - out there, paranthetical, but insistent.. There is an interesting power in the one standing at the window unspeaking, whether it be the Son or some other. Feels like there could be more... |
