poem to lips

by Maria Massarella

I awoke
with poetry on
my lips
wearing the
afterglow
of one
who has
nighted in
love's arms
honey the dew
sweet
glorious
bliss

don't ask me
love
why your blush
reddens my cheeks
nor why your
fragrance
ignites my
inebriations
when in luna dreams
drums roll me
vibrant
upon your tongue

petal lips
rhythm praise
silken
to the taste of
you
on
mine

Oh, how you quicken the heart of this old man and fill his mind with pink visions upon to rest his head.
