redefine: deployment

by Aaron Michael

this inaudible scream has been
lodged, rooted, and living
in my throat for 400
days.
only with the end can i
finally put words to it.

icannotdiehere
icannotdiehere
icannotdiehere

I FUCKING REFUSE!

A soldier's life is a gambling addiction. Instead of money, we're playing craps with our lives. Glad we've won the jackpot so far...

Bless you and thanks for sharing. You are the second soldier poet I have read tonight. It gives me spirit and hope from what seems so hopeless. I do hope you make it home fit and whole.
