November

by Leonard M Hawkes

Autumn's Gold is ocher now, or less;
The summer's charge for Green now laid to rest,
And Cold, a staunch companion every Night,
And Warmth, the hope of Day, a gift of Light.

Settling-in I wait now for the Snow,
Short icy days--and Christmas' Glow.

You have such a gift for concise images and creating an emotional response from them. I am reassured that some can actually "settle in" and enjoy this change of season and what it brings.
