meagre words

by Peter Humphreys

how can I
capture
the sound of you
the force of you
the bright light
dazzling dream
come true of you
yet meagre words
in distant rooms
when winter frosts our hearts
I shall hear these waves again
I shall smell your sea
and even be
in life's yet darkest hours
content
within the
foment of your embrace

Deeply healing, has the sense of returning to the embrace of life of earth and sea... as if by miracle, and feeling that rehabilitating presence as an "embrace", a "foment" that like warm swabs, heals and reinvigorates. The "dazzling dream" of our reality after hearing "winter" whisper with meager words" in "distant (like hospital) rooms... it is extraordinary.

Such a comforting place you have created here.

Oh if only all words were as meager as yours. The world would be such a beautiful place for all. Very nicely done.

In your words I sense that with the greatness Ireland is, no words come close to the love you experience for your homeland. Each part of "her" is part of you.
