a boy in a dress

by Nanette Bellman

a boy in a dress
tells me he's sick of hearing
how I bleed.
granted, it's been hit or miss
but for 12 years, I've bled.

a boy in a dress
with pink panties on
preaches dedication.
comparing vanity to motherhood.
tell me his beauty is more
than a mother's love for her child.

a boy in a dress
needs to choke
on his spoonful of ignorance
because without
    bleeding uteruses
    and "negligent" mother's
he'd have no 15 minutes.

Tangy, thought provoking read. I had no idea who Chris Crocker was until I Googled him.

Thought provoking indeed. The middle stanza especially begs to be considered patiently. A real rawness here that works well.

Fabulous poem about an idiot pseudo-celebrity. I don't blame you for being tired of him!
