with a piece of paper

by P.T. Brooks

A piece of paper
Pen in hand
Will take you to a happy land
Reality can bend tonight
And all you have to do is write
The sun shines brighter
And rain don’t fall
You’re living by
Your own damn laws
Life don’t have to be so wrong
Create the greatest unheard song
Love comes easy
Death is rare
Smiles always
Come in pairs
Food taste better
And waters clean
Write yourself
A brand new scene
If only for a moment
Your story is you
Just enough
To feel brand new
So piece of paper
Pen in hand
Write yourself
A better land

First poem I read today...every first poem of the day should feel like this. ~JPP

This a very catchy, upbeat poem. I love the idea of "write yourself a better land." Congrats on POTD.
