a late call for arms

by Samantha Shaw

my eyes roll back
like a shark's with each indulgence
fingers in my hair
an escape route for consciousness

silence strokes my mind
feeling the heat
I ignite
fighting the restraints of intoxication
your mouth releases poisonous intent
from your lips to my neck
I blaze
labial residue breaches skin
revealing demise

stale air and smoke settle
as I hold my breath
turning to survey my shadowy remains
solitude taunts
the void revels

Poignant in its succinctness... well done... and welcome to Pathetic!

I LIKE your writing! But what is 2008 saying to you?

there is much beauty in this ode, deep as Lake Titicaca and is stocked with music and movement that appeals to my sense of rhythm.
