For a Cause by Tony WhitakerSpotlights soaked
a rigged out stage
fellow employees
all levels and age
singing old songs
for a cause
as some who came
to see us play
Wearing a white-caped
rhinestone jumpsuit
lei encased face
wig and chops
big sunglasses
and some scarves
my turn
Hawaiian Elvis
Strutted down
runway smiling
down on one knee
kissed one scarf
tossed
with a smile
Hips shook
beneath the guitar
sang Hound Dog
wailed away
fifties Elvis
Audience screamed
smiled and laughed
some
were in wheelchairs
some wearing
contorted smiles
elated
Three minutes
felt like thirty
suspending pain
in my back
glad
when came
the next
one song act
