wonder what she wants

by Charlie Morgan

she dropped the scroll of her life;
it was short on years, long on pain.

she didn't want to be a baby's mama;
said so, twice, by a baby's mama.

she loves this man-child unconditionally
and is hers to keep, feed and nurture.

regret to her was a stranger, future's
fortitude scratched by life's claws.
and the unforgiving climb has no path,
the lone, sullied destination: tomorrow.

she dresses him in love and care
sends him off to the world hoping
he's learned his lessons well.

All I can say is WOW! I mean you capture it all. Really well done! Take a bow. Clap, clap, clap...

what a piece of work! nicely done, my friend. (this is blue's mom). another one short on years, long on pain, hoping the boy has learned some good lessons along the way.

Your eyes, your poet's seeing through the obvious, the pain, the ugly, to the beauty in humanity! Just being in the presence of such a vision makes me better. Thanks, as usual Charlie, for a gem.
