She was not there
And now her grins
Virtually content
Cause such chagrin
Inciting now
As days of old
He turns relationships
To gold
Mix fire with fire
A brighter flame
Transcends the separateness
Of name
Reflective shadowing
Midnight's light
By fiery hearth
Is twice as bright
Out screen and window
Shimmering face
Lured out the door
Their steps to trace
Meet waves where river
Ocean yearns
Her page and yours
Pulse rise and turn

Side Kick
Picture book
She wasn’t there
I went online
Oh what a scare
In futures past
This alchemy
Created someone
Just like me
With fire inside
Enough to start
The ardor of this
Pensive heart
A passive light
Albeit strange
Reflective self
Without a change
Ought I cross that
Wayward path
How will I know
What being hath
Ponderous eyes
A deepened look
Inside her soul the
Same rulebook

Posted by Sandy M. Humphrey on 11/13/07 at 07:06 PM I love it when poets communicate with the gifts they have been blessed with and then if they choose to share we are all indeed twice blessed as well. smh |
