Night Of Horrors

by Charles M Harrison

As the harvest moon rises
into the October night.
Amid the howl of a wolf
that brings an eerie fright.
Unto the streets there comes
a feeling of unknown dread.
As ghosts, goblins, trolls,
and witches walk with the dead.
What horrors will this night bring,
what creatures will come our way.
As we hide behind our doors
and wait for the coming day.
In the night we hear them
as they draw oh so near.
Filling all our hearts
with unbridled dread and fear.
How we hope this night will end
that it is all but a dream.
To late! They are upon us!
Trick or Treat and Happy Halloween.
